In the words of his foster mom, "This little guy is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met - not a bad bone in his body. All love. Super cuddly, affectionate, and ridiculously cute. Loves playing and food! You will fall in love."

McKinley

McKinley is a 6-month old pup whose mother was rescued from a hoarding situation in Glenn County. She was "on the lamb" for a month once the hoarding situation was broken up, and gave birth to a litter while in hiding. McKinley was one of the lucky pups to be caught and given a chance in rescue to find a great loving home. He has come along by leaps and bounds in foster care and ready for a new home. Oh, the stories he could tell! His brother has already been adopted in the same foster home, just a different rescue.

McKinley does fine with other dogs and would probably benefit from a doggy sibling. He is slowly gaining his confidence around people and learning to trust the big wide world. He seems to bond quicker with women but will gladly curl up in just about anyone's lap as long as he is able to. He also makes a great running partner.

Floyd is a 7-year old cattle dog mix, who weighs about 50lb and needs to lose some.

Floyd is adorable, knows sit & stay, ignores cats, and is friendly meeting people and other dogs. He's also a fan of chasing squeaky balls.

He is responsive/wants to please his people. He does have separation anxiety in his current home and will bark... but he's also not getting enough exercise (has also gained weight) and we believe these things are all related.

Floyd would do best in a home that can help him get his weight down and give him the exercise and stimulation a dog needs to be healthy and happy. Given his age, nice long walks would do the trick, or maybe he'd take to backyard fetch.

Hugh Jackman is a 5-month old Husky/Mastiff mix we rescued from the Glenn County area.

He appears to have a genetic condition called megaesophagus, where the esophagus is enlarged and the dog requires special feeding and drinking practices. Dogs with megaesophagus can lead relatively normal lives, but are prone to aspiration-induced pneumonia that needs to looked out for.

Layla is a 20lb 1-2 year old Terrier/Doxie mix and mom to Cinnamon, Sheiki, Dominique, and Mocha.
She is very, very sweet and loving toward people once she gets to know them. She clearly enjoys her walks and being out and about, but prefers that strangers don't approach her for pets ("Who are you new person?).

She does fine with the dogs in her foster home, but she loves human companionship best - she loves to cuddle with her humans

Susie is a 3-month old Chi mix we rescued from Avenal. She's a great little dog, super sweet, and has loved everyone she's met.

Susie lives with two young children. She adores them and they adore her.
She lives with two dogs (one large and one small). They get along really well and love to play, go for walks and cuddle together.
She is crate trained and sleeps through the night without making a peep
She is almost completely housebroken. She still has accidents every once in awhile.
She knows her name and has great recall. She'll come when called whether in the house, yard, or out in the field.

Very much still a puppy with lots of energy, and would probably be most happy in a home where he can get a lot of exercise and playtime;

Very social at the dog park with humans and other dogs;
Has very good recall- responds well to his name and to “come”;

ADOPTED! Tron's never seen his movie namesake, but maybe you guys can cuddle up together and watch it together! Tron is a 3-year old terrier mix we rescued from Stockton.

A total character! (think class clown)
Very playful - will play ball with himself. He actually tosses it and chases it by himself.
Can jump a four foot fence without a running start (doggy NBA should recruit him!) - so make sure your fences are tall enough for him. Maybe you could try out agility with him, too.
Total love bug and loves to curl up next to you and just chill.
Can be a tad timid at first, but is so eager to learn and have fun that he braves up fast! It's extremely heartwarming to watch him overcome his hesitancy.
Loves the dog park and playing with other dogs there.
Awesome in his crate at night. Never a peep.
Actually he never makes any noise. NOT a barker.

Angus is a young Lab mix we rescued from the Tehama area looking for an experienced owner. He's a great big, energetic puppy personality who takes to chewing as an outlet. A home that can give him an active lifestyle and guide him into adulthood with boundaries and training would be best.

He weighs about 60lbs and his paperwork says he's 3 year old - we think he's no more than 2-years old (pearly white teeth and puppy exuberance). He came to the shelter with a badly broken leg that couldn't be saved, so it was amputated.

Doing GREAT on three legs. Doesn't miss a beat.

Yukon was adopted in July 2010 when he was approx. 2 from Copper's Dream Rescue. Yukon is about 55-60 lbs. He was rescued from a shelter where he was used as the "tester" dog because he had such a good temperament. His job was to gauge the other incoming dogs' dispositions.

Very much a cuddler, really a lover
A tennis ball/frisbee fetcher (he will chew the frisbee, however)
Knows 'sit', 'laydown', 'shake', 'stay', 'come here', 'out' & 'rollover'
Is 'dog-tolerant' & socialized when properly introduced (gets bothered by dominating acts by other dogs)

Rosie is healthy 7-year old 65 pound gorgeous girl who needs to find a new home after 5 years with the same family. She would be a great companion for a single person, a couple or a family adult or older calm nice kids.

She's not a good fit with the twin toddlers in her current home - there has been no incident, but Rosie is not comfortable with them and the family wants what's best for everyone. If there were children in the new home, over 10 years would be best.
