Foxy Roxy (updated 3/8/10)
Foxy is a loving, 1 year old female terrier mix (imagine a basenji/jack russell mix... we know, "unique") rescued from being euthanized at the Los Banos shelter. She's very good with people, including older children. Probably because of a lack of training and socialization during puppyhood, Foxy does have some issues interacting with other dogs. With submissive dogs and young puppies, she does very well if introduced to them properly and can live with them in the same household. However, as a very strong alpha personality, Foxy cannot be placed in a home with another dominant dog. Foxy is medium sized at about 25 lbs, potty trained, and crate trained, which means she is used to going into her crate to relax. Like a good terrier, Foxy has occasional energetic playful bursts, but for the most part is even-keeled and very loving. Her favorite past-time is running up and putting her head in your lap and looking at you with her big brown eyes so you will shower her with affection. Because Foxy will require an experienced dog owner, Copper's Dream Rescue is waiving her adoption fee for the right home. The best fit for Foxy will be a home with someone who's comfortable and familiar with providing structure as a pack leader. We know Foxy will make a great addition to any loving family, reciprocating your affection 100-fold.

She is gentle and affectionate and does well in the house. She loves to be with her humans. Talulah (update 3/5/10)
Talulah is a 6-7 month old lab/pit mix who was found as a stray out near Tracy. It seems sweet Talulah had a rough start to life since she is pretty shy and uneasy when put in new situations. She is working on this and learning that not everything in this world is as bad as she thinks. She bonds quickly with the ones in her life and likes to stay right there with them keeping them company. She loves to cuddle and will just about squeeze in wherever she can fit. Talulah gets along great with other dogs and is quickly learning all the new rules. She is currently being fostered in San Francisco. If you would like to meet her please submit an application. Her adoption fee is $225, which will cover her spay and current vaccinations.
Cassidy (updated 3/5/10)
FOSTER NEEDED! Cassidy is a 4-6 month old queensland heeler mix with some of the cutest ears ever. Cassidy is about 20lbs but could really stand to gain a few more. She is definitely a cattle dog so will need regular exercise and stimulation, but she does great with other dogs and loves people. She may also have some whippet or italian greyhound giving her that lean muscular body and her super speed. Watching her skim across the ground with such speed and gracefulness is quite a delight. At this point she is just OK with cats but with some training I think she would be fine. She could keep herself busy for hours with a few good toys or will gladly play fetch for as long as you want. She is very gentle and listens well. Like most cattle dogs she is extremely smart and picks up on things very quickly. She would make a great agility dog as she is very agile and light on her feet. She walks fairly well on a leash and doesn't mind spending time in her crate. She is still a little nervous when out on walks but has made so much progress in such a short time I am sure it will only be a matter of days before she is adjusted to the urban lifestyle. Cassidy is currently being fostered in Pacifica. If you would like to meet this little girl please submit an application. Her adoption fee is $275, which will cover her spay and current vaccinations.

It seems though that Shadow spent most of his life indoors as he still needs some work with socialization outside the home. He still gets a little excited when seeing dogs out on his walks and is still getting used to the leash. The city life is a big change for him so he needs a little time to get used to it all. Shadow is a big lover who is looking to please so should learn new things quickly. He is currently being fostered in San Francisco. If you would like to meet him, please submit an application. His adoption fee in $225, which will cover his neuter and current vaccinations.

Remmy (updated 2/22/10)
Remmy is a sweet yellow lab/cattle dog mix rescued from Los Banos. Although the shelter estimated him at about 6 months, he may be closer if not over a year. Remmy was found as a stray and came to us very shy and untrusting of humans. His turnaround in the last few weeks has been something to definitely smile about. Once to shy to even look at a person, Remmy now curiously but cautiously will check out every new person. He now gladly will accept a nice pat and is even comfortable enough to take a treat from someone. Remmy loves, loves going to the dog park and would do well with another dog to help build his confidence even more. He is a dream to walk on a leash and he is house and crate trained. His manners in the house are just perfect. If you are looking for a loyal compaion with a mellow disposition then Remmy is your boy. If you would like to meet this special boy, please submit an application. His adoption fee is $200, which will include his neuter and current vaccinations.

Norie (updated 12/18/09)
Norie is a sweet lab/pit puppy at about 7 months with a incredibly soft fur, and a gorgeous white coat with tan freckles. She was rescued by Copper's Dream when she was about to be euthanized, and is very grateful for it. She is very "waggy" and lovey, and absolutely adores being pet and showered with attention by both adults and children. She has done fine with other dogs, but will need to be introduced to them properly, as she sometimes barks when first seeing other pups. She is very curious about cats and would likely chase them if living in the same home with them, so a home without cats is preferred! Norie would make a great companion, as she is loyal and affectionate. Currently she is being fostered in San Francisco. If you would like to meet her, please submit an application. Her adoption fee is $100, which will cover her spay and current vaccinations.

She is coming along great with her potty training and is learning her basic commands. Fiona is turning into a well rounded little girl who would make a great fit into any loving family. Fiona is being fostered in Sonoma. If you would like to meet her please submit an application. Her adoption fee is $225, which will cover her spay and current vaccinations.
Sweet Mama Blue (updated 12/13/09)
FOSTER NEEDED! Mama Blue is our special girl who is in urgent need of a special foster home or adopter. Mama is a 5- 6 year old pit mix who loves all people and even does great with children as young as one. She is a real love who just wants to curl up beside you or even lay in your lap if allowed. She respects her caretaker and has great house manners. She is also crate trained and walks well on a leash. Due to Mama's unfortunate past she should be the only pet in the house at this time. We know there is a special place for her out there and don't want to let her down. We want her to know there is a life better than what she had and we are determined to give her that.
She was confiscated from a home down south near Bakersfield along with her three pups. One pup was adopted through the shelter but Mama and her two babies had run out of time. They spent over a month in the shelter waiting for the case against their previous owner to close. He was convicted of animal abuse/neglect. Copper's Dream agreed to take her two pups but after meeting Mama and being greeted with the biggest pittie smile ever, there was no way she was going to be left behind. Everyone was well aware of what her fate would be if Copper's Dream did not take her. One smile from the most loving and loyal dog you will ever meet was all it took, in the van she went on her way to a better life in SF. After observing Mama's behavior outside the shelter environment it is clear that she does not like some dogs. We have no idea what her life was like before she came here, but after speaking with some trainers it is believed that she is just extremely under-socialized. Basically she never knew life outside the yard she was rescued from. We only want what is best for her and are looking for an experienced owner/foster willing to share their love with an awesome dog. We even have dedicated experienced individuals willing to work with her on her issues for as long as it takes. Please consider giving Mama a chance. Once you meet her you will see just how special she truly is. A giant lap dog, who grunts, groans and ever snorts on occasion. What's not to love! Blue's adoption fees have been waived as we are looking for that special home able to take this special girl. She has recently been spayed and her vaccinations are up to date.
