Sabrina is an 10-week old pit mix we rescued from SF ACC along with her siblings (they're the Charlie's Angels litter). Found as a group in an abandoned box, they were then taken to the SF ACC by a concerned citizen.

Oodle is a 3-4 year old male Poodle mix we rescued from Oakland.

We recommend a home without kids (although he's done well with them), because at times he hasn't responded well to be moved off the furniture. We think he'd benefit from a home that could establish house rules.

Betty is a 1-year old female Pug mix from hoarding situation. She is a sweet girl who can be shy upon first meetings. Betty is currently recovering from femoral head ostomy (FHO) surgery due to abnormal contact of bones that was causing her pain. Fortunately most dogs return to close to normal activity after recovery.

Ewok is an 11-month old male Wire Haired Terrier mix we rescued from Madera. He weighs about 6 lbs. Shelter volunteers say he is a doll.

Penny is a 4-month old female 3/4 Boxer/ 1/4 Mastiff mix puppy who was surrendered by her owner to a Nevada shelter along with her brother Diesel. According to the ACO, these pups are precious and get along with everyone. They are going to be BIG dogs.

Goldie is described as a 8-month old Golden Retriever mix, though labeled as a shepherd mix. She is a sweet girl who has gotten along with everyone she's met.

Warren is one handsome fellow we just rescued from Lake County. Though listed as 1.5 years old, it appears he is still under a year and at 60lbs will likely still have some growing to do. He is listed as a pit/shepherd mix but perhaps has some mastiff or other large breed. With a beautiful fawn/blue coat and constant wagging tail he is definitely a show stopper.

Jax is an adorable 3-4 month old terrier mix we rescued from Avenal. Sadly, Jax has recently been diagnosed with a rare genetic condition found in terriers called craniomandibular osteopathy, which causes excessive bone growth of the jaw and skull. While there is no treatment for this condition, it can be managed with pain medication and a special diet. The growing usually stops around a year and could possibly regress, so we are not giving up hope yet, as long as Jax can remain comfortable.

Jax is currently not available for adoption due to his uncertain future, but he will remain in a loving foster home. Donations in his name would be graciously accepted to help continue and monitor his care.

Jenny is a 1-year old Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix we rescued from Orange Cove.

Not every dog can say they've survived a gun shot wound, but Jenny can. One of her back legs was shot at some point, and the other back leg has a permanently dislocated joint. Both issues have been checked out by the vet, and they've advised she not have a home with a lot of stairs and will likely face some arthritis in her life. She can otherwise live an active lifestyle, just with some limitations. Dogs are amazingly resilient!
