With people he knows, he's a happy, goofy 3-year old Shepherd mix. He looks to have Rhodesian Ridgeback in him as well and weighs about 75 lbs. With people he doesn't know? Well, you might as well be the boogie man.

In his foster home he's house trained, has mastered "sit" (treat motivated), does well with the kids, and thinks he's a lap dog. He's uncrated at night and does just fine (and will go to his crate if you say, "Go to your room.") For playtime, he loves playing with laser pointers, soccer & tennis balls, plus splashing in puddles. If a puddle is big enough, he'll bunny hop through it.

At night he can be a bit of a cat burglar...he'll steal things from his foster's room to sleep with (not to chew). In the morning they'll find socks, shirts, or something else that he's taken to cuddle up with. Pretty cute!

At one time he was good around cats, but we're not sure if that's still the case. He lives with another dog and does well with him, and has also done very well with other dogs he's met out and about.

Landon is a 70lb happy, playful 3-year old Lab/Hound mix we rescued from Shasta County. Landon is a fabulous boy, well loved by his foster home, but he's very unsure about new people. In his foster home he's house trained, joyful, a gentle treat taker, a big cuddle bug, a fan of water (chasing it, romping in the kiddie pool), and loves waking up the kids in the morning with wet kisses. For play time he loves all toys (especially squeaky ones), fetch, chasing the laser pointer. He's done well at Pt. Isabel with all the other dogs, and generally gets along best with dogs his own size.

Casey is a 3-month old male Terrier mix we rescued from Fresno.

Sarge is a 3-4 month old male Border Collie mix we rescued with Lacy. They were found after being left tied to a tree near a river.

Baxter is a 6-month old male Pit mix we rescued from the SF ACC. He had a rough start to his life, but you wouldn't know it when you meet him. He weighs 40 lbs.

Perry is a 6-month old male mix we rescued from Manteca. He was labeled as a Pit mix but we see Hound and perhaps a little Swiss Mountain Dog in him. He weighs 41 lbs.

Xuno is a 5-7 year old male Shepherd-Pointer mix rescued on one of the busiest roads in San Ignacio; Joseph Andrews Dr. He was bleeding, starving, emaciated, and sick. He was so disoriented that he would wander in front of trucks; constantly stopping traffic. He received vet care and was nursed back to health and is ready for a home of his own!

Boo Boo Bear is a 4-month old male Shepherd mix. He was listed as a "Shepherd-Pit" mix at the shelter, but with his lanky body and long snout we don't see the "Pit" part. He arrived at the shelter with lots of scrapes and may have been hit by a car. He has no other injures and is well on the way to healing. Boo Boo Bear weighs 35lbs so might be about 60lbs full grown.

Emily had a badly broken leg and was very lethargic and non-responsive. The good Samaritan took her to the vet and paid for her to have surgery to repair the broken leg (plates and pins needed to be inserted) and has fostered her for the last several weeks. She has now healed and is ready to find her forever home .

Teddy is a 4 month old male Great Pyrenees-Anatolian Shepherd mix whose siblings we rescued, but he was already adopted out when we took his litter mates. He wound up needing rescue after the family that had him was not taking care of him. When he returned to rescue, he had a severely infected eye that was not treated and had to be removed, but we are happy to report that his eye is fully healed and he does not need any further vet follow up.

Duke is a 1-year old male Pit mix we rescued from the SF ACC. He is a bundle of excitement and love, and gets along great with people and dogs. Duke was allegedly tied to and dragged behind a motorcycle around the streets of San Francisco, sustaining injuries to his abdomen and paws. He has recovered very well; his fur has grown back in and he is looking good. Despite this treatment, he has forgiven people and is a total lover. He will do well in a home where he can get lots of exercise.
