Pasha (formerly Scarlett)
We've had her 3 months now. She is up to 8 lbs (she was 6-1/2 when adopted). She has become our constant companion, even learning to love boating! This pic shows her sitting, looking out the window from our boat. She loves the sunshine and is just the best dog we could ever have hoped for. Thank you for rescuing her and allowing her the opportunity to be in our lives!
Bandit and Roost (formerly Rover)
"Here are our boys Bandit and Roost (Rover)! When they are not busy playing with our kids (6 between both houses) these two are wrestling endlessly....which has clearly destroyed the flowerbed you see here! During the week when everyone is busier, they are kissing and pawing at each other through a gap in the fence :) They are both such good dogs and we are so happy to have them!"
Sandy
"Thank you so much for bringing her into our family; she's been a complete blessing."
Max (formerly Mac)
"I could not be happier, Max is a dream come true! He is everything I was looking for in a dog and more. I am so thankful that there is an organization like yours that gives wonderful dogs like these a chance to be happy. Max is sweet, calm, friendly, active, and smart! I continue to tell all my friends and coworkers about your cause and hope you all the best. Thank you so much."
Jess (formerly Harriet)
"All is great with Harriet. She now goes by Jess and loves hanging out with sister Tosh and cousin Kimo, all Copper's Dream grads! Here they are all patiently waiting for treats." (Harriet is in the upper right.)
Po
Po is living the good life in a home with lots of friends--the family's children, chickens, and even a goat!
Charlie
"Charlie! Is a 4-year-old Black Lab mix. He is the best companion in the world. I have had him for a week now and he fits in to my family perfectly. He is well mannered and loves everyone he meets. He enjoys long walks, taking naps, and fun games of fetch at the dog park. He is older in age, but young in spirit! Thank You Copper’s Dream!"
Hiro (formerly Norman)
Norman has a new name and it's Hiro. The little guy has grown up so fast and has become so smart. Thank you so much for bringing him into our life.
Ju Ju Be (formerly Willow)
"Here is a photo from Halloween with our other dog and they love each other. Ju Ju Be is doing wonderfully!" (Ju Ju Be is on the right.)
Ty (formerly Happy)
"My little girl is the love of my life. We share a chair behind the desk at Blue Cross Pet Hospital where we greet dogs and their owners. Her good looks and sweet tricks get her plenty of treats both at work and at home. She is the best snuggler, a persistent fetch player, and a great adventurer. My life is better because I adopted an 8 week old puppy and she grew into my best friend!"
Jpeg (formerly Candace)
"She has come a long way from when we first met her last august. Joustin Cordary, whom we adopted her from, has been a tremendous help in her training and progress. She is extremely sweet and cuddly. She is also very social. She makes friends with everyone!" You can also find her on twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/jpeg
Stitch
"Stitch is now a big dog. We celebrated his birthday last month (based on his estimated age when we adopted him). He's grown from a 20 lb pup to a big 55 lb dog. He is a great family dog. He loves people and other dogs (not cats, birds, and squirrels, however). This picture was taken at the off leash dog park in Milpitas, where we take him every weekend. He loves running and wrestling with his friends there."
Django (formerly Hamlet)
"It didn't take him long to come out of his shell and he is now a happy, confident city dog! He loves Buena Vista Park and Crissy Field a lot." Reilly (formerly Bam)
"BEST. DOG. EVER. Bam is doing great. We've renamed him Reilly and he's certainly grown up - much larger than we expected. He's great with the kids and guests and loves his big yard. When he's not barking at squirrels, he's lounging in the sun. He's taken a liking to our new kitten as well." Jonah
![]() Jonah with his sister, Ducky (the pug).
"Jonah is fantastic!"
Maggie & Katie
"Maggie and Katie are doing great! They are very playful, very loving, and just a joy to have around. Maggie’s favorite thing is to play Frisbee. Katie’s favorite thing is to chase Maggie chasing the Frisbee. They both go crazy for the birds and squirrels in front of our porch every morning. The tree chatter is just intoxicating to them! They get two walks a day, one of which is usually 2 hours long with either of our two dog walkers. They’re happy girls, but very mischievous. We’ve had many a pair of shoes destroyed and are on our third couch! But they are so precious, I wouldn’t trade them for a million years."
Jaxx (formerly Murphy)
"Jaxx (on the left) is doing very well with his brother and sister and our baby in the house. He is a wonderful addition to our family. He is so loving to the baby and us and looks out for all of us. Very playful and enjoys chewing and whatever toy is new, and he thinks is his." Gracie (formerly Star)
Gracie, also known as Gracie Lou, Gracie the Wonder Dog, and Gracie Girl.
Zoey
"We can't believe that Zoey joined our home one year ago. She was an adorable puppy and is a very cute dog! Zoey gets along really well with Delta, our nine-year old Pit/Lab (adopted from Home At Last Rescue). At times, Zoey tries to be the dominant one. Momma Delta will put up with it for a little while and then will put Zoey in her place. She loves to hang out on our couch, looking out the front window, and under the desk (her favorite place to sleep). It took us awhile to decide to get a second dog and are really happy that we did. We can't imagine our lives without her and Delta."
Suki (formerly Jill)
"We absolutely LOVE Suki! She is a wonderful addition to our family!"
Suki is on the right. Laguna (formerly Rexi)
"Everything Is great. She is a very smart and obedient dog. Very little training, but she gets it. We changed her name to Laguna and here is a pic of her in Kirkwood resort. We got her a season pass and she loves it up there."
Missy (formerly Misty)
"Missy is very
energetic and happy. She loves to play fetch and keep-away with her big
sister Sunshine (on the right). She never met a bone she couldn't chew. We love her deeply and are very happy to have her."
Bella
"Bella has transformed our lives in many great ways! And it has been amazing seeing her learn, grow, and come into her own. She is one downright social butterfly---having made friends with a number of neighborhood dogs. Her best friend is a Pomeranian named Bear---they can spot each other a mile away! She has a sweet, kind, patient personality and is always ready for a belly rub or tasty treat. And of course, she has her own wily ways of getting exactly what she wants---she's definitely figured us out! We have lots of fun spending time together, going for walks, going to doggy class, and spending time with my sister, brother, family & friends. She has been a true gift and I am grateful to Copper's Dream for rescuing her and countless other fabulous pups like her."
Sally
"Sally's been terrific. Siobhan is doing the ABC course and applying it all to Sally. She really is a good dog and very smart...She's become part of the family. Our son loves her and she respects and follows his commands. It's always nice to come home to a pet who is so happy to see you."
Bruce (formerly Rambo)
"He is truly a beauty and we definitely are lucky to have him....thanks again, you don't know how much you have brightened our lives as well as Bruce's"
Belle
"Belle and I are doing awesomely. We've recently moved to Texas where Belle spends her days playing with a pack of children and shares her home peaceful/playfully with a guinea pig and a cat. She is a loyal and intelligent dog that my whole family has fallen in love with. My mom, once staunchly against pit bulls, confessed that she's extremely impressed with Belle and they've become fast friends. With the lack of everyday city-life stimulation I've come up with new ways to keep her on her toes; she's learning to swim in the lake, met her first horse the other day, and was baffled/delighted by the discovery of frogs. I have to say, Belle has made my life more fun and I strive everyday to return the favor!"
Bruno (formerly Bourbon)
"We just love Bruno so much. His sweet personality makes everyone love him. We are on vacation with him right now, and he has had a great time playing around Lake Tahoe. Yesterday, we took him on a river float, and we all had a great time. He loves snuggling up with our daughter or on our laps. He is so smart that we have easily taught him a bunch of tricks! He has been the perfect addition to our family and we really appreciated how Copper's Dream helped us pick the perfect dog for our family."
Charlie
"Andy and I adopted Charlie back in May of 2010. He has been the greatest pup. He is now a year and 4 months old. Still goofy and awkward as ever, we like to consider him our “prancing princess” because of the way he prances around the dog park. About four months ago our roommate adopted a dog a few months younger than Charlie and they have a blast together, they play all day long.
We can’t thank you guys enough for the joy you have giving us by letting us adopt Charlie." Bo
"We are very happy with him, and know he is happy here too. Thanks for taking such good care of him!"
Lincoln & Darwin (formerly Aladdin & Nemo)
"They have brought so much love to our family.
They really are too cute for words." Shelby
"She's sooo wonderful. I really love love love her and spoil her rotten. . . I can't tell you how incredible my experience has been and I tell everyone that asks about her about Copper's Dream."
Freddie (formerly Ginger)
"Freddie is possibly the best pooch on the planet. She is happy and incredibly gentle. People stop us when we are walking and want to know where they can get a dog like her. She loves everyone. She tries to love our cats, but they have trouble loving her back. I have referred many people to Copper's Dream because it has worked our so well for us."
Rocky (formerly Kent)
"Rocky is doing absolutely fantastic. When we picked up Rocky from the foster home, he was very timid...Today Rocky is a very outgoing and friendly dog that loves to be around us, get petted and sleep at our feet. He is now very social with other dogs as we regularly take him to the local dog park...I am very happy to say that Rocky has made leaps and bounds since we have had him and is living a very comfortable and happy life."
Kuma (formerly Austin)
"He's almost doubled in weight and has definitely come out of his shell and developed his own personality. His favorite place to be is the beach (he loves going in the water), and he loves to play frisbee. Kuma goes everywhere that he possibly can with us, including camping."
Dexter
"Dexter is a great addition to our family. He is a total snuggler, and uses any chance he can get to wriggle his way into the middle of a situation with the hopes of getting some good luvin'...he seems to be a happy little guy and we are so happy to have him with us!"
Lola (formerly Acie)
"Life is great with Lola! She is the best dog I've ever had, and she's super spoiled. She is also very obedient and loving, and I'm so glad I randomly stumbled upon her...Thanks for the check in, I hope you guys are still doing an amazing job rescuing dogs."
Lola (formerly Fawn)
"The little girl Lola is excellent! She is a very happy and silly little girl, she loves to play and have fun all the time. She brings joy to every day, and everyone that meets her comments on what a pretty girl she is. She is a blessing."
Twinkie (formerly Shasta)
"She is extremely friendly and loves people. She is super smart and knows a lot of commands...She is house-trained and barks at the back door if she needs to go out. (She picked this skill up in hardly any time). She sleeps on the couch all day, wakes up in the evening and plays with her frisbee. She is very calm, quiet and seldom barks. Overall a perfect dog!!"
Neko (formerly Bridget)
"Neko is doing great. We talk every day how we have no idea what we did with our time before we got her! There are a ton of other dogs in our complex so she has lots of friends to play with."
Finn
"Finn is doing great! He is up to 75 pounds and doesn't seem to stop growing. Here is a pic of him and his brother, Hercules (also a Copper's Dream Animal Rescue success story)."
Rollie
"Rollie is doing wonderfully! I can't imagine life before Rollie anymore. We go running together three or four times a week. He has his favorite restaurants where he gets chicken dinners, which he loves so much he vibrates when I come out of the restaurant with the bowl of chicken... thanks for making it possible."
Odie (formerly Bennie)
"Odie is doing great! Terrorizing and loving as puppies are :) He's now 30lbs and seems to be growing by the minute!"
Emma
"She is thriving in Marin, where there is a big yard and plenty of open space for her to run around."
Jasper
"Jasper is wonderful and we love having him in our family. We couldn't have asked for a sweeter, more fun-loving guy to be our son's first dog. It's hard to believe that if you hadn't rescued him from the animal shelter that was closing, he would have been put to sleep. Jasper is about the same size as our two cats, a situation the cats seem to like very much. He became instant friends with our cat Fluoride, and they love to wrestle together (which is hilarious) and cuddle up in warm spots...Thanks so much for rescuing him."
Foxy
"Foxy entered our home after being saved from the Bakersfield kill shelter only 3 days before Christmas. She started out tail down and scared of a lot of things...But after lots of long walks, a beginner obedience class, and lots of love, she has come full circle...Her pastimes include: hunting down squirrels, tearing up paper towels, licking the occasional spoonful of vanilla ice cream, and requesting lots of belly rubs...Foxy has become a much-loved member of our family and has helped us cope with many stressful events this past year. We cannot imagine how we ever lived without Foxy."
Ellie
"Ellie is doing great. She's pretty much the highlight of our lives as you can imagine...She's so smart! She sits, shakes, lies down, and I have to say I think she is human behind those eyes. It was a great surprise to find that when my husband plays the guitar, Ellie howls. In the car, she will howl to certain songs, and always joins in if either of us are singing. We love showing off her talent at parties, she's a big hit...Thank you Copper's Dream! The world is a much better place with Ellie in it!"
Smokey
"Smokey is doing great and we love love love him SO much. We think of Copper's Dream Rescue often and we are so thankful that we found Copper's Dream and most importantly, Smokey. He's become such an important part of our family."
Casey
We're great!! He's growing too fast. Loves to go for walks and still is a snuggler. He jumps on my bed at night and sleeps with me."
Wendel
"It's hard to believe we have had him almost a year. We will always be grateful to Copper's Dream for getting us together. He is such a happy boy...he loves to go for walks, go to the dog park and play in his backyard...Copper's Dream does wonderful work and I tell everyone I know about your organization...He has brought such happiness to us and we look forward to many years together."
Alvin
"Alvin is a wonderful addition to our family. Everything about him has been better than expected, including his size (30 lbs instead of 15-20 lbs)...Thank you so much to you organization for helping us find him--he is amazing!"
Sasha
"Sasha is doing well. She is healthy, great with kids, a real sweetie with people."
Roscoe (formerly Rascal)
"He has been a perfect fit with the family, especially with his big brother Brady, a Plott Coon Hound Mix. Roscoe was easily house broken/trained and loves going to the park and lake to play fetch and run around. He also enjoys camping trips and inline with his Chihuahua lineage, when it's bedtime he is busy making a beeline under the comforter to sleep in his burrow (master bedroom bed) next to me! He is very alert and spatially aware, picking up on the slightest sounds that Brady won't even catch. As such he is an excellent First Alert when people, dogs, etc. are outside or in the vicinity."
TJ
We love TJ so much and we're so happy she has joined our family. She loves playing with the other dogs in our neighborhood, giving us kisses and just hanging out with us. She's really sweet with our 6 year old daughter and everyone else she meets. We're not sure why she was named TJ, but it might be for "tail jolt" because she wags it so joyfully that it often knocks things over.
Maggie (formerly Spring)
"I just wanted to say how happy I was to see Gracie got adopted! I adopted her last puppy. Maggie is a wonderful girl full of lots of love and energy! Everyone she meets falls in love with her instantly. She is an excellent companion of my 4 year old pit, Chloe. They play together so well and she definitely helped fill the void left when we lost our Sophie in May. She was recently blessed at the Blessing of the Animals at our church. I hope all of her siblings are doing just as well. Thank you for all the great work you do!"
Pepper (formerly Jersey)
"Pepper aka 'Jersey' is doing well. He is a loving / playful dog."
Luna (formerly Brownie)
"Luna is doing great! She has topped out at about 60 pounds and is still very soft and mellow. We take her to an unofficial dog park where her favorite thing to do is chase a frisbee-catching border collie around in circles. She is very popular with the other dogs, because she can wrestle and play rough or chase any dog that wants to be chased."
Kara (formerly Tasha)
Kara having fun at the dog park.
Tyson
"All is great with us. He turns 2 on 10/10/10. I'm considering having a party for him, and would love to have those of you from Copper's Dream to come by if you can make it. Tyson and I live in the Mission in SF now in a great house with great roommates that love him dearly."
Boo (formerly Sadie)
"Boo is enjoying the life of a "single child". She has taken over our lives and we could not be happier! :) She still finds some city noises a little overwhelming at times but has learned to love going on walks in the neighborhood and wants to say hi to everyone. Her favorite things are going for a run at Crissy Field and snuggle at home."_
Penny (formerly Petra)
"Here's a picture of Penny with the kids and Santa. She enjoyed her first Christmas with us. She is so smart! She totally understood and appreciated the the gifts. Gift 1: a rawhide chew stick which she ate continuously all of Christmas day until it was gone. Gift 2: a squeaky Snoopy dog toy which she takes with her wherever she goes, alternately chewing it and snuggling it. She is a special member our family, and much loved."
Toby
"Wanted to let you know my boy Toby is great. Jazzy and Toby play non stop. Topher and Toby have no problems with each other at all. Here's a recent pic of Toby and the gang. Toby is the one resting his head on Topher's side."
Lola
Lola is doing great and we were just talking about how it's been almost a year since she joined our family. She's a huge cuddler. She loves going on short jogs with my husband and she LOVES people and kids. Lola is totally a daddy's girl, but when my husband isn't around, she loves curling up next to me or on top of me and cuddling. We LOVE her so much and we are so grateful to Copper's Dream!
Nanni (formerly May)
"Everything is great with my puppy, her name is Nanni. She is a wonderful dog and has come along way from the timid rescue she once was. I hope all is well with Cooper's Dream out in CA."
Dash (formerly Andy)
"He is the sweetest little teddy bear. He's a little momma's boy and goes with me everywhere."
|
Max (again!)
"Just wanted to share a cute photo of Max and the kids enjoying the sun on our front porch today. He is the hit of the neighborhood. He loves everyone he meets."
Arya (formerly Sugar)
"I'm attaching some photos of Arya, a/k/a Sugar, the most awesome sweet funny engaging cuddly *enormous* responsive puppy ever! I adopted her from Copper's Dream two months ago and she lost no time in stealing all of our hearts -- including Andy the Eskie, her bosom buddy and partner in crime. In all of my photos of the two of them they're sleeping. When they're awake they're a constant happy blur of chasing-racing-wrestling motion.
I'm so grateful to you for bringing sweet Arya into my life. Thank you so much for the crucial and compassionate work that you do." Max
"Again, we just love this little dog. He has just made an easy adjustment with us and the kids. We have met a few dogs over the past few months, and we are so lucky we found him and your rescue group."
Toby (formerly Simba)
"Toby is doing SOOO WELL!! He is truly incredible and we are completely head over heels for him. Thank you so very, very much."
Kimo (formerly Galileo)
"Just wanted to follow-up with you and express our appreciation for your agency. The service you provide is incredible and helps in so many ways. We're directing everyone we know to your agency, and hope to foster in the future. He enjoys walks and is curious about everything. His favorite time thus far has been "play-dates" with his new cousin, Tosh. They can run and wrestle until the sun goes down! Jennifer again, thank you for introducing us to the adoption process at Copper's Dream and helping us find such an awesome treasure as Kimo!"
Mara (formerly Marlee)
"Mara is just loving her new life and is now a 50 pound lapdog. She will sit st my husband's feet and whine until he lets her climb into his lap, and she never passes up an opportunity to snuggle. She is such an amazing dog, and has been a breeze to train. Thank you so much for bringing her into our lives."
Lucy (formerly Lily)
"Lucy is a marvelous dog—incredibly sweet and very smart. We are so happy Copper's Dream found her and rescued her. She is the perfect dog and exactly what we were looking for!" (pictured with her new sister)
Cooper (formerly Jay)
"Cooper is part of the family. He's still goofy - a little lanky, one ear up, the other down - but he's grown up to be quite the gentleman. He knows all of his commands, he's terrific off-leash, and, most importantly for us, he's absolutely gentle and loving with our two little boys (1.5yr & 2.5yr). He's our own "Nana." He keeps a watchful eye on the boys and, wherever the boys are, Cooper is always just one step behind. And he is their best friend. He's always up for a game of catch, he loves to roll around, and he's more than willing to accept an unwanted morsel of mommy's cooking. You should hear the boys laugh with joy when they get a big, wet Cooper kiss!...Thanks so much for giving Cooper a second chance. We can't imagine life without him."
Cooper (formerly Pierce)
"The 1st day we got him he got himself under the passenger's seat on the ride home & it was so hard to get him out of there, but now he discovered the great feeling when you stick you head out the car window & guess what, he loves it now! My 2 kids once said: "we are so lucky to have picked him"...Thank you for all you guys do, these little guys are sooo lucky to have people like you that cares!
Panda
"Panda is the perfect addition to our family, and he gets better each and every day. His days are either spent at work with me (my boss spoils him rotten!) or chasing sticks, dogs and waves on the beach."
Nora
"We love her so much! Our new apartment is right off of Golden Gate Park, so she has been loving that! She is the sweetest, most loving dog on the planet. Over half of the people in our apartment building know her by name and she is great friends with them all. Thank you so much for all of your help that lead to bringing Nora into our family. We are so happy everything worked out so well."
Tenley
"Tenley is doing great. We had a few bumps at first, but Tenley has found her place in our family, and we can't imagine not having her with us. She has a sweet inquisitive nature and is such a happy energetic girl by day and a big teddy bear at night. She makes us laugh, and my husband and I certainly get a lot more exercise since we adopted her. We are so grateful to Copper's Dream for bringing Tenley into our lives. We love her."
Max
"My husband and I adore Max! He's the perfect dog. When we got him, he was shy, thin, and had some broken teeth. We got his teeth fixed and now he's gained some weight, demands love and attention, and loves to show off his running speed at the dog park. He placed first in his obedience class and still doesn't bark. He really enjoys sleeping in our bed and snuggles in a little ball between us each night. Max has brought so much joy to our little family. Thank you for doing what you do!"
Ivy
"Ivy makes us all happy. Enclosed are the pictures that will give you a clue how much we are all crazy about her. She is the most loving dog I have ever met and so say other people. We feel blessed to have her even though she chews on everything...p.s. She loooves the snow!" Rose
"I LOVE Rose!! she is the best dog ever!! She is the sweetest dog imaginable and has been ever since I got her. You Rock!! thank you so much for your help!!!!" Mikey (formerly Rudy)
"Mikey is doing great, he is very funny, curious dog, we are very happy with him."
Samson (formerly Chocolate)
"He's about to turn 2 years old and is doing great...He is happy and healthy, and the best decision I ever made."
Sasha (formerly Felicity)
"She brings joy to everyone in the family. She has so much energy and personality, and despite her size and intimidating appearance, she is very docile and submissive. She is happiest when she is around people or other dogs. To relax she loves to find a patch of sun and "layout". She will even turn over to ensure an even "tan". Ha ha. She has taught us all different things and we are happy to have her in our lives. Thank you!"
Mason (formerly Remy)
"Life with Mason is great! We couldn’t be happier with him. In the last year, he’s done quite a bit of camping, hiking, running on the beach, hanging out at the dog park and just chilling at home in front of the fireplace. He’s really opened up and shown us his personality. He gets along well with his brother (a 15 pound Pom) and seems to be pretty interested in our 3 month old boy. Thanks again for the wonderful things that you do."
Ruby (formerly Farrah)
"We renamed Farrah Ruby and she is great. She still has play dates with her brother and is best friends with our neighbor's dog, Lump, a mini-Dachshund who is about the same age. It is kind of silly but when she goes outside she barks for her buddy, and he comes out to play. Dan is a photographer and we took this picture. I was the trainer with the doggy treats. :)"
Jack
"Jack has brought tremendous joy into our lives. He has these amazingly long, muscular legs and has been described as a "gazelle" as he gracefully runs through the dog park. Needless to say, he's a powerhouse when it comes to running with other dogs and normally leads the pack...Thank you for the unimaginable life changing experience that Jack has brought to my life."
Stella (formerly Rasta)
"When she came to us she wouldn't even walk on a leash. Now she goes on runs with us in the morning and/or evening...She is very fun and we've enjoyed every minute with her."
Posey (formerly Jessie)
"Last December we adopted "Jessie" who quickly became "Posey" and joined our family as an immediately loved member. She has taken to whatever training we found for her as she is super smart and enthusiastic. As I sit here writing to you, I can feel the tiny kicks of our newest addition - a little girl who is due in late October. We are confident that Posey will help us welcome our first child into "our pack" since she has shown great love and appreciation for those around her...Thank you Copper's Dream for all that you do and for allowing us to bring Posey into our home." update! "Posey loves our new addition, Ruthie Irene. Here they are hanging out this morning. All the best to you and everyone from Copper's Dream."
Lola
"Lola is doing great! She is a little more than a year old. She is my running buddy! We go on long runs about 4 days a week at the dog park at Pt. Isabel. When I go to work as a nurse 3 days a week I am gone about 14 hours so Lola spends her time at doggy day care playing with other dogs. She is a very spoiled dog! She loves to take rides in the car and basically comes along with me everywhere. She is the sweetest most loving dog I have ever had. I know that I technically I rescued her...but the truth is Lola rescued me! I don't know what I'd do with out her. Thanks for making a great life possible for dogs like Lola. I really appreciate everything that Copper's Dream has done."
Lulu (formerly Apple)
"Lulu (on the left) is doing GREAT! She is very loved and happy - and curled up next to me at this very moment. She is always wagging her tail and loves to cuddle. She sleeps with me every night! She is still hesitant with some men but is no longer afraid of my dad at all and warms up to our friends that she sees regularly...Thanks for checking in!"
Ruby (formerly Cassidy)
Having a blast at Fort Funston.
Jester
"We wanted to share our forever thanks to you and your team for rescuing her. It is all because of the wonderful cause that you embody, saving these wonderful animals. Thank you for all that you do."
Layla
"Life is wonderful with Layla. She is an amazing dog- super smart, full of zest- your typical border collie/herding dog...She is the Queen of Fort Funston and the best trail running partner one could ask for. She is a happy girl- super alpha, great guard dog as well as playmate...We love her so much and always tell people about Copper's Dream. Thank you!!!"
Walter (formerly Teddy)
"I don't know what I was doing before I got him, he's such a huge part of my life."
Leroy Brown (formerly Milo)
"'Leroy Brown (Leroy for short)... has been a GREAT addition to our family...in San Francisco he comes and goes at will between the house and our big back yard. He gets a long walk every day...goes to the dog park, and he sleeps in our bed. We really couldn't ask for a better, sweeter, or cuter dog. We love him!!"
Ralphie
"Ralphie is doing wonderfully. He is giving and receiving a lot of love, and is an extremely easy dog to take care of. He loves the ocean, gets along perfectly with other dogs, and both children and adults...thank you for bringing such joy in our lives!"
Trixie
"Trixie is doing very well. She wakes me for our runs most mornings and is a good, super friendly "horse show dog"."
Mojo (formerly Frankie)
"Life is good...He is a very active dog with a puppy-like disposition even though the vet says he's around 2 years old. We are very happy to have him and he is thriving. Many thanks to Copper's Dream and Frankie's foster parents for bringing us together."
Tika (formerly Hannalee)
"She was originally extremely timid...Now she is a rambunctious 1 and a half year old. She loves to go hiking and play with her ball at the park. She also learned to swim and goes swimming on hot days with no enticement at all. Despite the fact that she had an uncertain and possibly abusive first year of life, Tika is absolutely great with kids and dogs. She loves to wrestle with other dogs and is able to coerce even the must curmudgeonly old hound into being a puppy again. We couldn't be happier with the way Tika turned out. And to think that she was one day away from being put down in a Los Banos pound...I'm grateful to Copper's Dream for the rescue."
Poochie (formerly Chewie)
"Everything's going great with Poochie! He's gotten so big and we believe he'll be more or less a year old sometime this month; roommates and I are planning on throwing a little doggie party for him soon...He's potty trained now, and has mastered "sit", "stay", and "down" which works well when we have guests over. Overall he's a very lucky and loved dog!"
Shiloh
"Shiloh is doing fabulous! Here's a picture of him at the beach, which happens to be where we are right now. I hope all of your rescue animals and families find as much love as we do with Shiloh! Thanks for all you do."
Barney
"He's fabulous!" (pictured hiking the Tahoe Rim Trail)
Diego
"Diego is doing great...He is our son's angel, without him my son would not have come out of his shell. In September he is taking the Canine Good Citizen test, and then in January will start therapy classes to accompany my son to school...Thank you Copper's Dream for bringing him to us."
Bucky (formerly Cannon)
"Bucky is doing extremely well! He and our other rescue dog, Marvin (part Boxer) are absolute best friends and play all day long. Bucky is still a sweetheart to all of us and we're so happy that we were able to give him a good home. Thanks to everyone at Copper's Dream for saving a life and helping us find such a wonderful pet."
Bella (formerly Hatti)
"Bella is doing very well! She is a very happy, loving dog and we have been having a lot of fun with her. We have taken her to see the snow and also to the beach. She has playdates with our friends dogs, Bentley a Rottweiler, and Brady a pit bull. She loves other dogs and people so much!"
Toby
"Toby is a great addition to our family and it's hard to remember life before he arrived...He loves to hang out with his pack, he's made me a faster runner, he makes sure that squirrels don't venture too close to our house and he has chewed his Nylabone down to a stub...He roughhouses with our cat, Timmy, and we often see Timmy chasing Toby around the house...we're thrilled to have Toby in our lives."
Zilla
"We absolutely love Zilla (we call him Zilly). Here is a photo from when he first came home- he made himself comfortable in what we call our "sleep chair" and he's settled in ever since! We can't imagine life without him- the fostering he received from Copper's Dream was wonderful and he's a great guy."
Chloe (formerly Penny)
"Chloe is one year old today. We got her at 3 months and a friend said she hit the jackpot. I guess so but we certainly did too. She is frisky and curious and LOVES to go to dog parks...She will chase or be chased, no preference...At home she quibbles with squirrels in the surrounding trees, plays hide-and-seek with whoever will play. When we use the hose, she runs in and out of the bushes trying to attack the stream..."
Don Pedro
"Don Pedro is the best dog EVER!!!!...We call him the "undog." He doesn't bark, he just loves to cuddle and he turns over to be petted on his belly whenever possible. At night I say "In your kennel" and he goes right in! No door on it, he stays there all night. I can't imagine my life without him."
Gracie
"We love Gracie very much and we are so glad that we adopted her! She loves to go for walks around the lake by our house and she loves playing in the water."
Maggie (formerly Stella)
"Kudos to the team at Copper's Dream...Already we can see how we will get the payback for so much effort in a loving and loyal pet over the years to come. Today, Maggie gets 2 long walks a day...goes to play with other dogs at a dog run regularly, and is able to go to the vet or the pet groomer without her initial negative behaviors that made both people and other animals not like her...she has come a long way and we are proud of the results of our efforts."
Loly
"Loly is working out great! She is a total sweetheart and is doing well with our 5 year old. He is the one who needs to behave!...Anyway, here is a picture of our little cutie, thank you and all of your team for your help during that difficult time."
Tank
"Tank is the heart of our little family and we are so lucky we found him. He has grown to be a very BIG PERSONALITY!...He is extremely active and his favorite place is the beach which we like to hike a couple times a week...He loves to cuddle on the couch with my boyfriend and I, and is probably one of the friendliest dogs you will meet. I would categorize Tank as a big goofball with a funny little "human" personality...His excited temperament changes when he is around little kids, in a sense that he is still very excited but knows they are small so he needs to be gentle. We are looking forward to working with you guys again when its time to get a little brother or sister for Tank."
Liam
Liam the Transport Ambassador! He was adopted in October 2010, and is pictured here riding with his Mom while she transports rescue dogs. He's strapped into the console enjoying the ride!
Chester
"Thank you so much for accepting us as parents and letting us adopt Chester. He is an amazing puppy and we love him to death!"
Bobby
"Bobby is great. He's grown to be a big boy from when I got him. He's a great dog and is good company."
Pete (formerly William)
"He's doing great, and a very welcome part of our family. We actually call him Pete or Petey. He's still got a bit of Lab puppy in him, but he's learning more and more how to listen, how to be polite to visitors, what not to chew on. We love him, and are very grateful for your rescue. I've included a picture of Pete in one of his favorite spots."
Tiberius
"Tiberius is doing very well - 45 pounds heavy and no longer a sickly puppy. You can find him most days at Rossi Park on Arguello and Anza."
Tiberius was a beautiful, furry five month old puppy when he first arrived in San Francisco from Bakersfield. Unfortunately, little did he or our rescue know, his escape from a high kill shelter did not mean he was out of harm's way just yet. Within a week of entering foster care, Tiberius developed a serious pneumonia that was probably a result of exposure to the Bakersfield shelter environment. Read more about Tiberius' story here. Molly (formerly Cookie Monster)
"Molly couldn't be happier in her new home. In fact, as I type she is sleeping at my side. She has a 9 year old 70lb male fox hound as her best friend and protector, and a few cats as her play mates. She loves her huge backyard and loves everyone she meets. She still hoards her treats, as was described in her description on the website before I adopted her, as well as any morsel of food she 'finds.' We couldn't be happier having her with us. She brought new life into the household after my father died, and especially to our older dog with arthritis who has found the energy to play again."
Coco (formerly Anna)
"Coco is a wonderful addition to our family! She has been very easy to integrate and is incredibly lovable, affectionate and obedient. She is great with our children as well. Thank you for rescuing her, we feel she is a perfect match for us."
Tory
"Just thought I would send a latest photo of Tory, we adopted her in March 2010. She has been a great addition to our family and makes us laugh all the time. We are so happy we found her."
Jamison
"Adopting Jamison was definitely the best thing that happened to me in 2010. My roommate calls him the Pepe Le Pew of dogs, not because he smells, but because he is such a lover. We recently moved up to Portland, Oregon and now he has access to a big yard and an 18 month old Lab named Oliver. Jamison and Oliver have become best friends. Jamison's favorite pastimes are: playing with Oliver, snuggling, going for long walks and/or to the dog park and obsessing over the neighborhood cats. His favorite game is to steal everyone else's tennis balls at the dog park.
I love him with all my heart. Thanks again for bringing such an amazing animal into my life!" Emma (formerly Fannie)
"Emma (formerly Fannie) is a true delight. She is such a social butterfly and approaches people of all ages and sizes both male and female without any fear - and everyone she meets loves her. She also can hardly wait to make new canine friends at the dog park too. She can however be very stubborn, especially when it comes to obedience training. My daughter rescued a horribly treated canine mother in May who came with a terrible history, and Emma has been an amazing leader for Pearl. Emma has shown Pearl that people and other dogs can be kind, nice, and giving. She has taken Pearl into the depths of our backyard to explore, rest, and relax as well as into the wilderness at the dog park chasing squirrels and following the scents of the other interesting creatures that passed through the night before...We also found that she enjoys water to a certain extent. She will go into the ocean now and swim in the river near my mother-in-law's second house when there is another dog in the water, especially our other dog Cooper...We continue to be perplexed about all the breeds that have come together to make her because she is sort of small, kind of long, and has a variety of personality traits. Nevertheless, our little Emma, the "young one" is a blast to have as a part of our family. We love her very much and could not think of a life without her. Thank you for the opportunity to love her and raise her."
Satya (formerly Small Fry)
"Sweetest, most lovable, sensitive, trainable, never aggressive even with other dogs, puppy ever!
Thank you so much!" Faylene (formerly Leena)
"Faylene is doing great. Since her adoption we have adopted two other dogs. All of them have a great time together. We take them all to the end of the road to go running in the farm fields. They get plenty of exercise and affection. Faylene is a real joy. Attached is a photo of her on Christmas Day." Chardonnay
"Chardonnay is doing great. We have had her since February of 2010 and she has improved so much. She is totally house trained and has worked through all of her anxiety problems. She gets along with our 2 other dogs and we absolutely love her."
