Max: 3 legs, lots of love to give

Sponsored by the Hughes Family
If you were to look up "happy" in the doggy dictionary, you'd see Max's adorable mug. Max is a 11 year old, 50 lb, Pit-Boxer mix (per DNA testing) who only has three legs, but he doesn't let that slow him down! He can do anything a four-legged pup can do (run up stairs, play fetch, you name it).
On the home front Max is house trained, sleeps well in his crate at night, and would be your lap dog if you let him. He walks well on leash and enjoys a good car ride (Can you picture some epic road trips together? We can!).
Come play time, Max loves squeaky toys and romping at the dog park (having a ball with both big and small dogs).
WHAT HE NEEDS TO WORK ON: He's very friendly with everyone he meets, except he can be protective of his crate and his home when strangers aren't introduced properly (he's bitten two people...and felt awfully bad about it after the fact).
IDEAL HOME: Max would do best with someone who's good at reading doggy body language, can conduct proper introductions with new people, and can provide him with a relatively active lifestyle.
VIDEOS: Max playing, Meet Max!, Max
Adoption fee: $100, which includes his neuter, current vaccinations, and training assistance.
