Please consider your dog's personality and flight risk when leaving them in the care of others. It may help to acclimate them to that temporary environment and care givers through visits prior to your trip.

Passed away after being hit by a car. He was being walked by someone unfamiliar to him, and as a skittish, newly adopted dog, bolted unexpectedly. 

Please take precautions with newly adopted pets, and consider well-fitted harnesses for dogs that may slip out of collars.

Please consider your dog's personality when they're off leash. Dogs with a strong prey drive will often not respond to voice recall, and can be uncontrollable off leash.
