We recently found ourselves back out at the same property we previously rescued 23 puppies from, collecting MORE PUPPIES. Due to the back up of vet hospitals all over we couldn't get one mom in, in time and she had another litter, getting pregnant immediately after the last. Along with that the family took in another pregnant dog. It was a situation we thought we had under control but ended up not even three months later and we were rescuing another 17 puppies from one home.
We currently have all remaining dogs at the property on the books at the vet for altering but our community altering fund is dwindling fast. While puppies are cute, we simply don't need more. Please educate others and spread the word how important altering your pet is. Not only for the health of their pet but there simply isn't enough room for so many puppies in rescues or shelters. We are struggling to find fosters for the most recent group of pittie puppies but we committed to taking them, altering and getting them good homes. A HUGE thank you to Buster Paw Prints for heading out in 105+ degree weather to catch pups and Tehama County Animal Shelter for working with us on getting them all placed. It's so important to have the help and support of other groups working towards the same goal and we are lucky to have such amazing partners in the rescue world.
